Bed and breakfast at Brimham Rocks in the lovely
lower Nidderdale countryside

Eileen Payne offers guests a warm and friendly welcome to her old historic farmhouse, sheltering under the famous Brimham Rocks.

Originally the farm was part of the Manor of Brimham and along with other properties in the area belonged to Fountains Abbey.

When the dissolution of the monastries occurred in 1539 the old grange was pulled down and later rebuilt by Michael Inman whose initials and date(1657) appear on a stone over the doorway.

Today it still has a very fine six light mullioned window and many other interesting features.

The house is superbly decorated and features wooden beams throughout. All bedrooms are spacious with private facilities and a high standard of co-ordinated decor with fully fitted
furniture.

There is a spacious lounge with colour television and splendid views across the valley and of Brimham Rocks. The house is fully centrally heated.

Eat your meals in a dining room where John Wesley preached on his visits to Nidderdale.

Breakfast is varied and involves fresh fruit and traditional cooked breakfast farmhouse fare. An optional 5 course dinner is offered but there are also nearby inns and restaurants with an excellent range of food.

The farm is ideally situated to enable visitors to see many places of scenic and historic interest, such as Fountains Abbey and the old city of Ripon with its cathedral. York and Harrogate are within easy reach and the and scenic beauty of the Yorkshire Dales is all around. Despite being in such an idyllic area, the city of Leeds is only half an hours drive away.

Bed and breakfast is £24.00 per person for the first night, reducing to £22.50 for subsequent nights. The optional 5 course dinner is £13.50.

Eileen Payne also offers self catering at Two Hoots Cottage
