Ethel Warren Stowell

    BROOKFIELD - Ethel Warren Stowell, 94, died on January 26, 2004 at the Berlin Health and Rehab Nursing Home in Berlin, Vermont of pneumonia.
    She was born April 30, 1909 in Bridgewater, Vermont, the daughter of Charles L. and Jessie Lynds Warren. She was a native of Plymouth, and also lived in Woodstock, Vermont; Fellesmere, Florida; and Ludlow, Vermont.
    She received her early education in Fellesmere, Florida and graduated from Black River Academy in Ludlow, Vermont in 1926.
    She married Lewis (Jack) Stowell in 1927 and lived on Maple Street in Chester, Vermont where she was a member of the First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Chester Review Club and was president for two years and secretary for two years, and was involved with the Vermont State Women's Club Association.
    (Jack) and Ethel moved to Brookfield in 1971 where they owned and ran a Christmas Tree Plantation with their son, Lewis H. Stowell, Jr. They were members of the Brookfield Congregational Church and Ethel was a member of the Women's Association.
    She was predeceased by her husband (Jack) who died in 1990, and her mother, Jessie Lynds Warren, and an older sister Doris Warren Stowell. She is survived by a sister, Mildred Warren Inman of Kelseyville, California; a son, Lewis H. Stowell of Brookfield and a daughter, Jacquelyn Stowell Krupinsky of Litchfield, Maine; two grandchildren, Lisa Krupinsky Paul of San Francisco, California and Steven Krupinsky of Peabody, Massachusetts and a great-grandchild, Aleana Krupinsky of Augusta, Maine.
    A graveside committal service at the Brookfield, Vermont Cemetery will be held in the spring.
    Memorial donations may be sent to the Brookfield Congregational Church.
    Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. *
