Will of Edward Inman 4th
September 12, 1774

    In the presence of God, Amen, the twelfth Day of September A.D. 1774 I Edward Inman of Dudley in the County of Worcester In the province of the Massachusetts bay In New England Yeoman being far Advanced in age, but of perfect mind and memory, Thanks be given to God; Therefore calling to Mind the mortality of my Body, and Knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to Die, do Make and ordain this my last Will and Testament - that is to say principally, and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it: And my Body I recommend to the Earth, to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors: And as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, demise and dispose of the Same in the following manner and form.

    Imprimis, I give and bequeath to Dorcas my beloved Wife the one third part of the Improvements and Incomes of all my Lands Dwelling House and other buildings in Dudley aforesd and Likewise the Improvement of a third part of all my moveable Estate so long as she shall remain my Widow - Except my Horse and side sadle which I give to her my said wife forever.

    Item. I give to my well Beloved son Edward Inman about Eighty acres of nild Land Lying near a place called Coblers Hill in Glocester, to him and to his heirs forever.

Item. I give to my Beloved Son Benjamin Inman and to his heirs forever, Sixty pounds Law-ful money to be raised and Levyed out of my Estaate.

Item. I give to my two youngest Sons viz. Joseph Inman, And Nathan Inman, And to their heirs forever, All and Singular my Lands, Messuages and tenements in Dudley aforesaid together with my farming tools And all my Live Stock, to be equally divided Between said Joseph, and Nathan, and their Heirs as aforesiad provided notwithstanding there is nothing meant nor Intended in this paragraph in the Least degree to Infringe upon or cut short in any particular what I have as above written Expressly given to my Wife, as aforesaid.

Item. I give to my three Beloved Daughters Viz. Rachel the Wife of Jeremiah Phillips Ruth the Wife of Phillip Mowry and Jemima the Wife of Joseph Benson./ to be Equally divided between them./ And their heirs forever to be raised And Levyed out of my Estate the sum of Sixty pounds Lawful Money.

Item. I give to my grand Son Elisha Phillips and his heirs forever Three pounds to be raised and Levyed out of my Estate.

Item. I likewise constitute, make and ordain the within named Dorcas Inman my Wife, Joseph Inman and Nathan Inman Jointly and Severally my Executors of the my Last Will and Testament. And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments, Wills, Legacies and Bequests, by me in any Ways before Named, Willed, Bequethed, Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal the Day and year above-written.
