Will of Edward Inman, 3rd
May 28, 1755

I Edward Inman Late of Glocester but now of Smithfield in ye county of Providence in ye colony of Rhod Island in new England yeoman: Being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be given to God for ye Same therefore Calling to mind the mortality of my body a & Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die: do make & ordain this my Last will and Testament that is to say principally & first of all I give and Recommend my Soul into ye hands of God that Gave it: and my body I recomend to ye Earth to be buried in a Decent cristian buriel at ye Descretion of my Executor hereafter named: & Touching Such worldly Estate whare with it hath pleased God to Help me withall in this Life: I give and Dispose of ye Same in ye following manner.

Firstly I Give and bequeath to my Grand Son Daniel Inman the Sum of three pounds in money of ye old tenor to be paid by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Deceas out of my moveable Estate and ye Reason that I gave the said Daniel no more is because I had given my son michael Inman his whole portion before by Deed.

Secondly I Give and Bequeath to my son Elisha Inman five acres of Land to be Taken of at ye northeast part of my home farm next to abner Bartletts land & to Extend west & Southerly till it make up the compliment of five acres to him my said Son Elisha Inman and to his heirs & assigns forever...

Thirdly I Give and bequeath to my Son Israel Inman thirty Two acres of land: viz: ten acres to be taken of at ye Southeast part of my home farm next to abner Bartletts old farm and Twenty two acres to be taken on ye Easterly Side of ye highway that goeth Southerly to John Wallings: and on ye Southerly Side of ye highway that goeth East to Smithfield: To him my Son Israel Inman and to his heirs and assigns for ever: (_____) and further more my will is that my son Israel Inman have the priviledges of apples and other fruit out of my orchard till he can raise fruit of his own.

Fourthly I Give and bequeath to my Son abraham Inman all my rights and title to the farm where my Son abraham now Dwelleth to him & to ye male are of his Body Lawfully begotten & to ye male ares & their heirs and assigns for Ever.

Fifthly I Give and Bequeath to my Son Edward Inman a Certain tract or percell of Land Lying adjoining to ye River Called ye Branch & Where ye Tarkill River meets ye Branch be ye Same more or Less bounded as ye sueryors Return will make appear Secondly my will further is that my Son Edward Inman have all my Land Lying on ye River Called ye Branch and the Grist mill & Saw mill and ye Dwelling House with all ye priviledges Belonging to Said mills and House: and also all my part of my home farm that is undisposed of: and all my other Lands whatsoever To him my son Edward Inman and to his heirs and assigns for Ever ...

Sischtly I Give and Bequeath to my son Elijah Inman the Sum of fifteen pounds in money of ye old tenor to be paid by my Executor hereafter named with in one year after my Decease.

Seventhly I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Susannah Walling the Sum of Six pounds in money of ye old tennor to be paid by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Deceas.

Eighthly I Give & Bequeath to my Daughter Prissilla Walling the Sum of Ten Shillings in money of ye old tenor to be paid by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Decease ...

Ninthly I Give and bequeath to my Daughter pinnopally mowry the Sum of ten Shillings in money of ye old tennor to be paid by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Decease.

Tenthly I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter mary Wallings Children namly mary walling and hannah walling the sum of ten Shillings appiece in money of ye old tennor to be paid by my Executor hereafter named within one year after my Decease.

Eleventhly I Give and bequeath to my loving wife Lydia Inman one third part of my moveable estate and the best Room in my house So long as She Remains my Widow: but not to Sell or Rent our her privilleges Except it be to my son Elisha Inman or Israel Inman ... or Else to live with my son Elisha Inman or my son Israel Inman and there to be comfortably maintained so long as She remains my widow ...

12ly I Likewise Constitute make and ordain my son Edward Inman my whole and Sole Esecutor of this my last will & Testament: and I do hereby Utterly Disallow all & Every other & former will & Testament Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the Twenty Eighth Day of may in ye Twenty Eighth year of hi majestys Reign George yee Second King of Great Brittain 1755 ...
