Born in Poland on April 20, 1925, George immigrated to Canada in April, 1930 with his parents and brothers and sister. They settled on a farm in Pine Ridge where they attended school and worked hard to earn a living by farming, caddying at the golf course and "cutting chamois". George married Loraine Inman in 1948 and they farmed and raised their family north of Stonewall. Failing health forced George to move to Rosewood Lodge in 1997. George enjoyed travelling to Western Canada, the Ukraine, Hawaii and other parts of the U.S. He enjoyed playing cribbage. Many family dinners were followed by cribbage with Brian and the boys. However, he did not enjoy losing, even to his grandsons.
